Baltic Restaurant — Establishment and food at 237 New Britain Road, Berlin, Connecticut.

Food was really good: potato pancakes were large, a tad oily, but great flavor. Also enjoyed the pierogi, although the variety of fillings didn't seem to match the menu. Nice soup, salad looked fresh and tasty. Enjoyed my Hunters Stew, not that excited about the mashed potatoes.

Some people on Yelp complained that the prices were high, but I didn't think so.

So, why 2 stars? The service and overall pace of our lunch was probably the slowest I have ever experienced. Might be understandable if it were busy, but the entire time we were there, there were a total of 3 tables (9 customers). It is possible there was some giant issue that day, but since no one apologized, or even acknowledged, how long everything took, I assume a 1 hr and 45 min lunch is not unusual here?

So, nice food, but try it at your own risk.
